Installing the Viewpoint Plugins

To use Viewpoint Online you will need to install the Viewpoint Online Plugins. You can install the plugins from the “Viewpoint Online Plugins” CD or download the plugins from the Viewpoint Online website.

Downloading

To download the Plugins go to http://www.vptol.co.uk/download and download the “Viewpoint Online Plugins” setup. Choose the “Save this Program to disk” option. When the download is complete run the setup file. You will need to install the plugins on all of the PC’s you intend to use for Viewpoint.

Installing from CD

Insert the “Viewpoint Online Plugins” CD into your CD Rom Drive, the InstallShield wizard will start automatically and guide you through the install.

Note: You will need to be logged in to the PC as an administrator to install the plugins.

Testing the Plugins

Once you have installed the Viewpoint Online plugins, you can test to see if they have been installed correctly. A test account is available on Viewpoint Online. To test the plugins:

1.     Open Internet Explorer and go to http://www.vptol.co.uk. The Login Screen will be loaded (see image below).

2.     Enter the Organisation “VIEWPOINT” and choose a Login ID in the range “user01” to “user99”. Enter the Password (this is the same as the Login Id) then click on the “Login” button.

3.     When you have successfully logged in to Viewpoint Online you will see two questionnaires are available for you to choose from (see image below).

The first Questionnaire is called “About Questions”. It shows you the different types of questions and gives you the opportunity to use the built in help and use the “Control Panel” to change the themes and assistants.

The second questionnaire is called “Assessment Questionnaire” and is an extract from an assessment questionnaire. It is designed to help you to appreciate the kind of information that is sometimes collected by Viewpoint Online.

If a questionnaire has been used before the “Start” button will not be visible, but the “Resume” and “Restart” button will be. In this situation you can either choose to resume from where the questionnaire was left or restart the questionnaire from the beginning.

4.     Click on the “Start” button if the questionnaire has not been started before, the “Resume” or “Restart” button if it has. The questionnaire will now load (see image below).

Please Note: If you are using a desktop shortcut to open Viewpoint Online you may experience problems. The desktop shortcut has been removed from later installations because of this. It is recommended that you delete the desktop shortcut and add the website address: http://www.vptol.co.uk (not http://www.vptol.co.uk/actlogin.asp, you may have to edit the favourite to remove actlogin.asp) to your Internet favourites as an alternative.
