Accessibility of
Viewpoint (W3C Compliance)
W3C is the internet ‘governing body’ which suggests guidelines and protocols for acceptable web design and website layout, with the definition of acceptable being a website that can be accessed successfully from any kind of browser, so that users of all means and disabilities will be able to view and use that site.
Further details about W3C can be found at:
The Viewpoint Websites comply with W3C guidelines in three key areas, CSS Level 2, XHTML 1.0 and WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) Triple A WCAG 1.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
The first two are concerned with offering recommendations about web coding which will make web sites operate as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Possibly the most relevant one to Viewpoint users is the latter as it deals explicitly with making web content accessible to people with disabilities.
The Triple-A logo on our site proves that we conform to level Triple-A of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, including all Priority 1, Priority 2 and Priority 3 checkpoints defined in the guidelines.
